Submit Your Music & Stories to Save On Radio
Save On Radio is built on community voices, local sounds, and independent creativity. We believe the airwaves should be open to new perspectives—whether that’s your band’s latest single, a powerful spoken-word piece, or a thoughtful segment idea that sparks conversation.
This page explains what we’re looking for, how to prepare your files, and what happens after you send them in. Please read carefully before submitting. We want the process to feel smooth and respectful for everyone involved.
What We’re Looking For
Our programming celebrates diversity, originality, and community connection. We welcome:
- Music Across Genres: Rock, hip-hop, electronic, folk, R&B, classical crossovers, jazz, experimental, and everything in between. If it moves you, there’s a chance it will move our listeners too.
- Spoken Word & Storytelling: Poetry, monologues, oral histories, short documentaries, comedy sketches, and sound-rich essays.
- Community Features: Interviews, roundtable discussions, or reports highlighting local initiatives, cultural events, or issues that matter to the community.
- Special Shows & Segments: Proposals for recurring programs or one-off specials with a clear angle, theme, or voice.
We’re not limited to one style. What matters most is authenticity, clarity, and connection.

Editorial Policy
Curation is guided by community interest, audio quality, and programming balance. A few important points:
- Selection Criteria: Not every submission can be aired, but all will be reviewed. We consider originality, relevance, technical quality, and how the piece fits with ongoing programming.
- No Pay-for-Play: Submissions are free, and acceptance is based solely on editorial judgment. Money never determines airplay.
- Edits: For time or clarity, we may make light edits, but we will not alter the core meaning of your work.
We value openness and fairness. Our goal is to elevate diverse voices, not to gatekeep them.
How to Pitch a Segment or Show
Thinking about hosting a regular program or producing a special feature? Here’s how to pitch:
- Describe the Idea Clearly: What is the show or segment about? What makes it unique?
- Identify the Audience: Who is likely to listen, and why will it matter to them?
- Explain Why Now: Why is this the right moment to launch or feature your idea?
- Provide 3 Sample Topics or Episodes: Brief descriptions of the first three shows help us picture the tone and range.
Strong pitches are concise, passionate, and realistic about production needs.
Production Tips for First-Timers
You don’t need a full studio setup to create quality audio. A few simple practices go a long way:
- Keep Levels Consistent: Avoid distortion by monitoring peaks. Aim for clear voices and balanced music.
- Trim Silence: Edit out unnecessary pauses at the beginning and end of your file.
- File Naming: Use a clear structure, such as ArtistName_Title_Year.mp3. For segments, ShowName_Episode01.mp3.
- Test Listen: Play your file on headphones and speakers to ensure it translates well.
- Backups: Save a copy of your final mix in a safe place before submitting.
These small steps help ensure your piece is ready for broadcast.
What Happens After You Submit
Here’s what to expect once you send us your file or pitch:
- Acknowledgment: You’ll receive confirmation that your submission has been received.
- Review Window: Our team typically reviews submissions within 2–4 weeks.
- Programming Decision: If your work is selected, we’ll let you know when it will air. If not selected, you’re welcome to revise and resubmit.
- Editing for Time: For scheduling reasons, we may trim slightly, but we will preserve your core work.
Patience is appreciated—we listen carefully and want to give each submission fair attention.
Code of Conduct
Save On Radio is committed to fostering a respectful and inclusive environment.
- Respect for All: Submissions should not promote hate, harassment, or discrimination based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, or identity.
- Zero Hate Policy: Material that targets or demeans any group will not be considered for broadcast.
